What is NLP

NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming is the study of how individuals make sense of the world. One thing that you can be sure of is that almost all of us appear to be similar, but we are very different.

In fact I believe "you are UNIQUE". From the way we think or the way we behave. Your version of "reality" will not be the same as the "reality" of others.

Basically it can be summed up thus:
  • Why do you do what you do?
  • When and where do you do it?
  • How do you do it?
  • What would you rather do instead?
NLP provides the 'how to' part of achieving and maintaining your objectives.

By exploring the interaction between the brain (neuro/nervous system), language (linguistic) and the body, a model of the key qualities behind a person' effective behaviour can be identified.

NLP will be used to find out just how your thought processes drive you to do what you do.

I can't imagine that many people will have ever thought of how their brain gets them to be scared of things, or crave the way it can.

Does it communicate to you by giving you a picture of the thing you are afraid of?

Perhaps it is a sound, smell, taste or just a feeling. When this communication is discovered it becomes a very simple procedure to "repair" the problem.

There are so many applications for which it can be utilised that the list is endless.

NLP combined with Hypnotherapy are very effective therapies to assist people to change for the better.

I am a master practioner and have been trained by the creator of NLP, Dr Richard BANDLER.

What is Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a highly effective tool to help people change for the better. It is a subtle yet powerful way to bring about change in your life.

After a short consultation the "issue" will be established. It is important to find out "how to do your issue". NLP is utilised in this process.

You will be relaxed into a light or deep state trance and positive, powerful subliminal suggestions for improvement made to influence your subconscious mind.

And YES it works well!!

All of us experience being in a trance state almost every day. Being engrossed in a film, aware of only what's going on in the film and oblivious to what's going on around you.

In this state of deep relaxation we can communicate with your subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind is the part of your brain that gets you to do what you do, without you needing to think too much about it.

Over eat, smoke or run when you see something that scares you to death. You don't think about it, you do it instinctively.

Myth Busting!!

"It's dangerous"!! This simply is not true.

With a properly trained and fully insured therapist you will have absolutely no problem.

"A Hypnotherapist can make you do anything they want"

Again, this is just rubbish. However, I can't blame people for thinking it - after all they just need to watch a stage hypnotist make people "cluck like a chicken on my command". Yes this is possible with a certain type of person but this is the reserve of the performer who is out for laughs and entertainment.

Hypnotised subjects fully adhere to their usual moral standards and cannot be made to do anything against their will.

"You'll be in therapy for years"

I offer a solution-focussed therapy that is able to resolve most conditions within two to six sessions, dependant on your issue.

"I can't be hypnotised"

There are those who, for whatever reason, find it hard to relax deeply. However a good Hypnotherapist will make use of different techniques to induce trance.

I have yet to encounter an individual who genuinely wishes to overcome an issue that cannot be hypnotised. Want to try for yourself ? You can also bring a friend as long as they don't clap....
